So Cute!

This is Jasper, our sweet Filipino neighbor Fe's youngest son! Isn't he just the cutest. she is trying to stay out of the picture! He is about 1 year old here. He can blow me kisses, he says "ma-ma" and "lola" (which is grandma). He was about 4 months old when we got here. He waves to me when he sees me in the car or on the street! When we moved here she was the first Filipino I met--she saw us the first day coming home from the landlords house down the street which is just passed her house and met us as we were coming back and welcomed us to the neighborhood. She has three children all together. (I will get pictures of them at a later date.)She got us the water man and the gas man to come to our house that very day!! She is such a sweet lady. We have been to the Palenke together (she helps me negotiate a good price (the Filipino price) for things I buy. The first time we went to the Palenke we road in a padyak (bike peddled side car) and when we came home we road in a tryke (a motorcycle side car). She runs a tindahan (small store with treats and commonly needed items, i.e. oil, eggs etc.) at her house. (Tindahans are very common here, there is one on almost every block--the snacks are very cheap so they do a lot of business but don't make a lot of pesos because you can't mark them too high or no one will buy them. This way the Filipinos don have to run to a regular store when they get the craving for a treat--they just walk down the street to the nearest tindahan!)
